Why am I doing this?

Many have criticized the HCG diet, both out loud and to themselves. I know, eating 500 calories a day for 40 days does seem crazy, and like I'm starving myself, but indeed, I will not be starving. HCG is a natural hormone found in pregnant women. When a non-pregnant person takes the HCG and limits their diet to 500 calories a day, it uses your visceral fat (the fat you don't want) to make up for the other 1,500 + calories you are not getting with food intake. That is about as simple as I can explain it. If you want more in-depth explanation, visit http://www.pounds-and-inches.com/ and download the entire EBook for free. All you have to do is provide your email address, and you can download the book explaining everything and includes how you do the diet. I have read through it a couple of times.

When I first heard about the HCG diet, I was skeptical. Some nurses at the clinic I work at ( http://www.riordanclinic.org/ ) were doing it. I would talk with them frequently about it and started learning more about it, and then it didn't seem so crazy. And then I learned about the EBook, and once I read it, I wanted to try it too! The opportunity arose one morning during a staff meeting when our chief medical doctor here was explaining the diet and wanted volunteers to do another test run of the diet. Boy my hand went up fast! I've been eagerly awaiting the start of the diet and IT STARTS TOMORROW!!

I'm hoping to keep up with writing about how my diet is going day to day. As I go on with it, I will be posting pictures, how much weight I have lost, and any struggles with being tempted to eat outside of the diet. I will explain more details about this journey as it continues!
