Day 4

Day 4: 148.8
Total Lost: 2.2 lbs

So this morning, I took a shower and tried to follow HCG criteria. I used Nature's Gate Aloe Vera shampoo, no conditioner (although they do make it, just don't want to spend another $6 on it right now), no shaving gel when shaving (it doesn't bother my legs one bit to not use products while shaving, they just have to be wet), and instead of body wash, I used a bar of soap (Dove) that is HCG approved. I hate bar soap. So hard to lather! So I'm going to go to the store and purchase some HCG approved body wash.

My throat is really itchy and I can't take any cough drops because the ones I looked at had sugar in them. And all our tea has fruit in it, so I'm suffering. So tea is another thing I need to get at the store. I hate tea though. With every bone in my body. It makes me sick to my stomach, literally.

In case I haven't explained, and you haven't looked at the website in the first post, on this diet you can only eat 500 calories a day, and more specifically, only the items on a list of approved items. We get to eat 8 items a day: 2 fruits (Apple, orange, 1/2 grapefruit, or 6-10 med strawberries), 2 vegetables (Lettuce, spinach, asparagus, cabbage, tomato, cucumber, chard, onion, beets, radishes, celery, fennel, or chicory), 2 proteins (Beef, buffalo, veal, boneless chicken breast, sea bass, flounder, sole, halibut, lobster, crab, or shrimp), and 2 grissini breadsticks or Melba toast. You can not duplicate the same vegetable or protein twice in a day, and you can not mix vegetables at a meal. You can only drink tea, black coffee, and water. And you may have one tablespoonful of milk and the juice of one lemon per day. Seasonings are allowed, as long as they do not include sugar.

---------
Lunch today was 6 jumbo shrimp made in a skillet with chicken broth and seasonings, an apple, Melba toast, and celery. All spread out over a course of 4 hours.  And I'm still hungry. And I have a headache. And a little bit cranky. But still energetic! Tonight we're going to a Christmas party, so there will be A LOT of temptation. Hopefully I'll stay strong and not cheat! We're bring our food with us, so we can still eat.

---------
So tonight was horrible. There was so many delicious foods, and my hunger and cravings got the best of me. I cheated, and had one meatball, one Deli Spiral, one tiny piece of yellow cheese, one bite of scalloped potatoes, and one roll. I was just so hungry! Even after eating my dinner, which was cucumber, orange, Melba toast, and chicken, my stomach was still rumbling. It was pure torture. And then a headache started. But it wasn't a bad one. I do notice a difference between being hungry on the HCG and when I was hungry before: Before, I would get hungry and after an hour of hunger I would start feeling sick and get a bad headache and just not be able to function. But with the HCG, I'm hungry, maybe get a slight headache, but that would be it. I'm still able to function and still have energy. I am slightly cranky though.

I hope this hunger ends....
